Add Symbols on a Mac

By popular demand, I will be doing a weekly segment offering tips for your Macbook. Let's call it Tom's Tech Tips. That name is cheesy, can you come up with a better one? Anyway, these tips will be quick and easy. Of course, if you have ideas or requests - I am happy to write some information up for you.
Todays request is how to do accents on your Macs keyboard. This applies to all Macs, past and present. Not that the 'Alt' key may often be called the 'Option' key. Most MacBooks now have the word 'Alt' on the Option key - making it a lot easier. Below is a couple of tables indicating what key pattern is needed for individual accents and symbols. I will also attach the Excel file I made this in.
